It?s not unusual nowadays to receive in our work-shops raw materials for machining in their original state. More costly materials are continually being used and it is important to limit the quantity of material removed.
Based on this, the machine operator is faced with the problem of having to clamp work-pieces within a very reduced area both in milling and turning. If the gripping area is limited, the best method must be found for a rigid clamp with no vibrations when machining and which guarantees no part clamping failure.
In Fresmak we manufacture high pressure vices and we are capable of reaching clamping pressures of up to 5 tons in small sized vices. To be able to make better use of this pressure, we have developed hard metal grippers ( 60Hrc) that ensure a secure and efficient clamp.
These elements can be custom-built designed and manufactured according to customers' needs at reasonable prices and good delivery.

This example has an area of serrations, but it could also be stepped to allow a base for the work-piece.
The Arnold MB2 vice is an ideal model for this application. As can be seen in the drawing, irregular and/or circular work-pieces can be clamped. If needed, the movable jaw can be manufactured a swivel jaw.

The potential alternatives provided bythis vice depend on the skill of the operator in charge.
